    LI JINGHU

Li Jinghu works primarily with sculpture and installation. Material modesty is a powerful vernacular as he combines industrial techniques and disparate materials to create an intertwining ongoing ‘historiography’ of a landscape. Since 2002, Li Jinghu has established a conceptual orientated practice representative of Post-90s infuential generation of artists from South China. His work shares a deep-rooted connection with Dongguan – to relentless transformation of this city, which contributes both the substance of his life and work. He has witnessed immense changes to the Urban-Rural divide since childhood, with observations often punctuated with a deep sense of loss and instability.

Li Jinghu was born in Dongguan, Guangdong Province (China) in 1972. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department in South China Normal University, Guangzhou. He currently lives and works in Dongguan, China.
